The Itrax instruments allow you to get a clear view of how different elements are distributed along samples like sediment cores, wood laths, rock cores, speleothem slices, and more. Most elements from Mg and heavier are covered, with important elements like Al, Si, K, Ca Ti and most of the heavier metals, including Mn, Fe, Cu, Zn, Sr, Ba, Pb, and many more. The detection limits range from bulk and down to the low PPM level for most metals. The analysis also includes optical images of the samples, and radiographic images showing variations in the matrix. This combination of sample aspects makes a good basis for sample interpretation and planning of further work.

The variable lateral resolution makes these instruments useful for several sample types and allows the user to go from overview scans at centimeter steps to in-depth, ultra high resolution of down to a fraction of a millimeter with just a mouse-click. The Itrax instruments really demonstrate their capacity when it comes to the highest resolutions, offering  radiography and XRF of very high quality.

The analysis is performed without touching the sample surface, and leaves the samples unaffected. Thanks to forefront technology, these scanners offer highest sensitivity, speed of analysis and reproducibility. Modern software with the user in focus makes the instruments easy to handle.

The Itrax XRF Corescanner accepts cores and other samples of a length of up to 1.7 meters, which are analyzed in horizontal position

The Itrax Multiscanner is built for wood laths and other small samples of up to 28 centimeters of length, which are analyzed in an upright position.
